Dear Members of the Williwaw School Community,

We are currently in the process of selecting the next principal for Williwaw Elementary school. This letter is to help you understand how this process will work.

Three events will occur that involve school community members. The first is the “characteristics identification” survey that involves the school community, the second is the screening/interview process, and the third is an open house to which members of the school community will be incited to meet the new principal of your school.

The characteristics survey link is provided with this letter, and copies are also available in the williwaw office. Your responses will provide information to the Elementary Education Division and ultimately to the Superintendent about the characteristics your school community values in a principal. If you choose to submit a paper copy of the survey, you may return it to the williwaw school office or the Elementary Education Office located in the Administration Building at 5530 East Northern Lights by Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

The second step in the process includes participation from two members of the school community in the screening and interview phase – one teacher or staff member and one parent, PTA member, or community representative. Those selected will need to be available for single block of time, approximately three to four hours.

Finally, as we conclude the school year, we will host an Open House at Williwaw Elementary School. This will provide and opportunity for you to meet and welcome your new principal.
